Yelling Free T-shirts in a high traffic area on a college campus is almost the same as yelling Fire in a crowded hall due to the disruption it causes as hundreds of students stampede to get their free swag.  As you may remember from your college days, students will give up all kinds of private information, bare their souls, and hear about your brand in order to get some free swag.
